Xaver Schlager - Features with Austria Schlager (thigh) made his return from injury in the 2-1 victory against Romania in the World Cup qualification game, according to the OEFB.

Impact Schlager missed the entire second half of the season due to a thigh injury and was only able to make the bench once against Dortmund in mid-March without returning to the pitch. The injury now appears to be behind him as he played about ten minutes for Austria on June 7, marking his return. This is good news for Leipzig since he will likely rebuild his fitness during pre-season and be ready heading into 2025/26. Schlager is a regular starter in midfield when fit and could feel like a new signing for Leipzig.

Impact Silva's loan spell with Werder was poor to say the least. The striker scored once in just seven appearances (four starts.) His career since departing Eintracht Frankfurt has been miserable, filled with loan spells and poor form. Silva likely has no future with Leipzig after loans in the last two seasons.

Impact Geertruida opened the season playing a large role, with his versatility at right-back and center-back proving crucial. The defender ended the season on the outside looking in, though he did start the finale. Geertruida has been linked with a move away from Leipzig, but also recently signed a long-term contract. If Kosta Nedeljkovic is brought in to Leipzig permanently Geertruida may be more driven to seek a move away from the club.

Impact Nedeljkovic was a solid full-back option during his time with Leipzig, and did enough that club is reportedly considering activating the purchase clause. The defender failed to get on the scoresheet but closed the season with starts in six of the final seven matches.

Arthur Vermeeren - Earns large role Vermeeren created a pair of assists in 28 appearances (18 starts) in his Bundesliga debut.

Impact Vermeeren was struggling for minutes with Atleti, but has thrived since making the switch to Leipzig. He did so well that the club activated his transfer clause in January. Vermeeren will head into the next season as a likely starter alongside Nicolas Seiwald in the midfield.

Lois Openda - Major disappointment in Leipzig Openda finished with nine goals and five assists during his second Bundesliga campaign.

Impact Openda was easily the most disappointing part of the Leipzig team, struggling to only nine goals after a brilliant 24-goal debut campaign. The striker faltered across the board, he seemed to lack a willingness to shoot and was less creative as well. It was a disappointing season from start-to-finish, though Leipzig will hope this is the exception as his prior two campaigns were brilliant.

Christoph Baumgartner - Struggles for end product Baumgartner scored twice and assisted just once in 31 appearances in the Bundesliga.

Impact Baumgartner had a tough season, he struggled for any sort of end product, despite his ability to play a variety of roles throughout the attack. The midfielder just couldn't produce at the business end of the pitch. It was by far his least productive season in the Bundesliga, and one to forget. Baumgartner isn't guaranteed a big role next season either with most of the same midfield group returning.

Antonio Nusa - Solid debut campaign Nusa scored and assisted three times in 25 appearances (16 starts) in the Bundesliga.

Impact Nusa's first campaign in the Bundesliga was an immediate success. The winger was brilliant in a variety of roles and showed improvement throughout his time with Leipzig. Nusa's role should only grow next season, especially with his excellent partnership with Xavi Simons.

Maarten Vandevoordt - Struggles in limited chances Vandevoordt conceded nine goals in four Bundesliga starts.

Impact Vandevoordt was the backup option after making the move from Belgium to Germany. He saw some chances in the starting XI, though he was largely poor during his few chances on the pitch. he also failed to earn a single clean sheet. Peter Gulacsi is returning for 2025/26 and could remain the starter in the final year of his contract.

El Chadaille Bitshiabu - Ends as starter Bitshiabu made 21 appearances (13 starts), mostly in the second half of the Bundesliga.

Impact Bitshiabu opened the season as a bench option, with limited chances on the pitch. By the end of the season he'd made himself a valuable part of the starting XI, largely partnering Willi Orban in the starting XI. If he can continue to progress, Bitshiabu should be among the starting options next season.

Benjamin Sesko - Another strong campaign Sesko scored 13 times and added five assists in 33 appearances in the Bundesliga.

Impact Sesko wasn't quite as efficient during his second season in Germany, but was excellent once more. The striker has been linked to a big money move to the Premier League, but if he remains in Leipzig he will be guaranteed a big role. Sesko's increased willingness to shoot was especially encouraging this season, if his finishing improves he has potential to trouble 20 goals or more.

Nicolas Seiwald - Breakout campaign Seiwald made 30 appearances (20 starts) in his second Bundesliga campaign.

Impact Seiwald was a disappointment during his first season in Germany, making just six starts. This season was totally different. Seiwald was at his best as a box-to-box option and made 30 appearances while proving himself as an important part of the starting XI. Seiwald should continue to develop into a larger role in the coming years, and especially in 2025/26 as he seems set to be one of the top options on the depth chart.

David Raum - Down year offensively Raum scored once and added five assists during his third season in Leipzig.

Impact Raum has never reached the same offensive highs he achieved with Hoffenheim, though he's remained a solid contributor in Leipzig. The wing-back offers plenty going forward and is a solid piece of the starting XI. Raum should continue to take on a big role for the foreseeable future though he was rotated more with some different formations this season.

Kevin Kampl - Consistent depth option Kampl made 26 appearances (18 starts) in the Bundesliga, scoring once.

Impact Kampl stayed right in line with his role across the past seasons, not quite a consistent starter, but a big part of the senior squad off the bench and starting at times. He scored one goal with no assists for the second season in a row, right about where he generally lands offensively.

Willi Orban - Mainstay once more Orban started all 25 of his appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring five goals.

Impact Orban was a mainstay in the starting XI once more, playing a large role whenever fit. Injuries have occasionally limited him in recent years, but for the most part if fit, Orban starts. After signing an extension earlier in the season Orban should continue in a big role moving forward.

Lukas Klostermann - Back in solid role Klostermann made 28 appearances (20 starts) in the Bundesliga, scoring once.

Impact Klostermann kept the same role he's had across the last few seasons. He was a depth option across the defense and played a bit over half the available minutes. Klostermann is valuable for his ability to play anywhere, but he isn't quite good enough to be an every-day starter.

Yussuf Poulsen - Deals with groin injury Poulsen was forced off late in the match due to a groin injury after coming off the bench in Saturday's 3-2 defeat to Stuttgart in the season finale.

Impact Poulsen sustained a groin injury late in Saturday's final match of the season after being on the pitch for less than 20 minutes. He will undergo scans in the coming days to know the extend of the issue and will look to recover in time for the start of the 2025-26 pre-season.
